    Frequently Asked Questions

What are mobile coaches or trailers used for?

Special community or employee events targeted at providing medical screening services to resolve patient gaps-in-care such as mammograms, bone density (DEXA) screening, eye/retinopathy, skin cancer, diabetes, COVID, etc.

    Dental procedures or screenings

Temporary or permanent clinic setting at hospital or medical center to provide services when overflow care is needed, disaster has damaged the main center, remodelling is being done, new equipment has not been received yet, etc.

Will we need a CDL driver assigned to the mobile unit?

You may or may not need a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) for a mobile medical unit if its total weight is under 26,000 pounds. Check your state requirements.

Most states require a CDL Class A license for any single vehicle that exceeds 26,001 pounds.

Class A: Any combination of vehicles/trailers with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 or more pounds provided the GVWR of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds. This would include large, over-the-road commercial haulers.

Class B: Any single vehicle with GVWR of 26,001 pounds, or any such vehicle towing a vehicle not in excess of 10,000 pounds.

How will the mobile unit be configured for my clinic?
